What is funded training?

In Spain, there is a subsystem that regulates employee training through social security contributions.

Continuous training is 100% funded, managed and controlled by Fundacion Tripartita, an organization that owes its name to a triparty that forms its board consisting of; (1) Public Administration and main organizations, (2) Business Administrations, (3) Unions.

The funds come from; the Social Security, the European Social Fund and the Public Service of State Employment itself.

What are training discounts?

They are deductions applied to Social Security contributions that can be used up by interested companies to invest in professional training for their employees.

In general, all companies are assigned an annual credit (with a minimum of 420 €) which they can invest in training for their employees, giving them access to discounts and enabling them to pay a reduced contribution to Social Security.

These benefits could be up to 100% of the amount invested in training courses.

What is required of my company?

Be up-to-date on Social Security and Tax Agency contributions and payments respectively.

Not having exhausted annual employee training funds.

What are the courses like?

The course must take a minimum of 1 hour.

Students must attend at least 75% of the course.

What is the methodology?

The courses are offered: on-site, through distance learning, e-learning or an interaction of the 3 methods of instruction.

With regards to the subject matter, there are 2 levels of training:

  • Basic: Basic skill training to improve skills and transversal or generic subjects.
  • Superior: Subjects involving specialized training to develop programming or management skills.
Variables that determine discounts applied

To calculate your credit, you can either consult settlement bills related to the previous year or we could also confirm to you the credit available for your company.

Who pays for the course?

The company pays for the course to be able to justify participation and further benefit from corresponding discount.

The amount paid is recuperated after remittance of employee monthly data to the Social Security within the same year. Meaning, you will only apply for the funding after having completed the training.
